Zero Waste Events

Make your event a zero or low waste event

Common Ground Compost has worked with partners all over the New York City area to throw successful, wonderful events with as little waste as possible being dispatched to landfill.

Composting at an event is a great way to show you’re serious about sustainability! It’s also a great opportunity to teach guests the importance of source separation of organics and recycling, and impart some knowledge along the way!

coordinate waste removal

We can arrange a local hauler for the drop off, pick up, and processing of your event’s waste streams. We can also educate your team about the local NYC rules and regulations surrounding event waste for events of all sizes. Let us teach you!

procurement advisement

Our team of zero waste experts can help you with recommendations for waste station infrastructure rentals, serviceware purchasing and rentals, as well as bag liner sourcing to meet all of your needs.

custom signage

Signage is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to effect change in people’s behavior. We can set you up with our standard signage, or spend time working with your team to develop custom signage that meets your event’s exact needs.

microhauling organics

In some very special cases, we may be able to provide compost hauling service on one of our Reclaimed Organics e-assist collection trikes.

zero waste staff

CGC works with a team of incredible contractors, many of whom have been working with us for years, and have operated many Zero Waste events! We work hard to educate our team into an operational dynamo, full of knowledge and enthusiasm for zero waste.

donation recommendations

In many cases, there’s food thrown away or composted that is still fit for human consumption after an event. Most prepared food is eligible for donation and we can help connect you to a partner.
